READ WRITE LEARN offers an inviting, materials-rich learning environment in the heart of the Columbia City neighborhood in Seattle, Washington. The space is purposefully organized to stimulate exploration and encourage discovery.

One student describes her experience at READ WRITE LEARN as follows:

“Familiar and friendly, white and color, cement and brick. I look around and see a table, a box, a bookshelf, multicolored foam pads on the floor, two beanbag chairs – one colorful, one green – and five doors for coming and going. Books, millions of books, on a light wooden shelf. It’s a comfortable space with a big garage door but no cars. There’s a fan for cooling in the summer. There are games stacked up and the gentle noise of rain outside. An unmistakable room that hasn’t changed a bit in three years and it never will.”
